Steve Halfpenny announced as first contestant for Equitana “The Way of The Horse – Australian Horsemanship Challenge 2010″

Steve Halfpenny, known to Aussies as a PNH graduate and currently teaching worldwide, (Ireland, New Zealand, UK, Germany) has been announced as the first contestant in Equitana Melbourne’s 2010 ‘The Way of The Horse – Australian Horsemanship Challenge‘.

The Way of The Horse is dubbed the ‘ultimate display of horsemanship methods’ by Equitana promotions, a 2 day display of 3 contestants competing to demonstrate their horse-starting abilities in three sessions. Introduced in 2005, Guy McLean took out the title in 2005 and Dan James is the 2008 champion.

The idea is that contestants get to select a young horse for starting and then use the time allocated to showcase their unique method to make a connection, enable trust and respect and perform a set of activities by competition close.
